LATEST NEWS![]() SUBSCRIBEVOLUNTEERWe are always looking for energetic people to help us with feeding, grooming, etc.» Volunteer Now Heaven Can Wait Mission![]() Free from abuse, neglect and abandonment Along with our commitment to continue the care of our rescued residents, is our commitment to provide the opportunity to educate children and adults about not only the enjoyment of owning an equine and the wonderful bond that can be created between humans and equines, but also about the responsibility, the knowledge, the costs, and the time that is required for such ownership. Only through education and awareness can we all improve the quality of life for all equines. Cruelty and neglect should never be acceptable options. We also are committed to providing our equine-assisted therapeutic activities that were developed to heal and educate a wide range of people facing many kinds of challenges.
Projects: The Word Herd allows children and young adults to read aloud to a horse who is glad for the attention and will never correct their pronunciation. Special Needs sessions bring people together safely with horses who communicate without words, can help them improve their self-confidence, social skills, patience and anger management, and where volunteers encourage them to express their feelings toward the horses creatively if they wish. Visitors are given a tour and told the residents' stories, which are often inspirational for the hardships and traumas some animals have overcome. The magic of our equine residents is that they have found a way to forgive the bad inflicted upon them by humans in their pasts and are willing to give of themselves to the people who need non-judgmental and unconditional love to heal. It is truly inspirational to witness the resounding results of how our wonderful and happy equines help those in need. As a non-profit organization, Heaven Can Wait, Inc. depends on the generosity and financial support of friends like you to make our work possible. Please learn how you may donate or volunteer your help. |
