After ANSTAR, born and raised in Great Britain, had his multi-thousand dollar racing career ended because of a broken seismoid. He arrived at HCW after a yearlong wait. His primary exercise rider at Bay Meadows had developed a strong bond with Anstar and took him to her ranch when his racing days were over. He was well loved and well taken care of, but the space available to him was not enough for a young ex-racer. Out of love for her friend, she began her search for a more suitable home for him. She visited HCW and knew that is where he needed to be. He is quite the character and makes everyone who meets him laugh at his antics.
